Nico Kim, CEO
Hey everyone! My name is Nico Kim, and I’m a senior at PV High with a 4.93 GPA & 1550 SAT. I am an AP Scholar with Distinction, having taken seven AP exams, including 5s on Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Computer Science A, & World History. While I enjoy tutoring in a wide range of subjects, math is easily my favorite. At school, I am a co-president and lead coder of PVIT’s 4-time Worlds-qualifying VEX Robotics program, which had its first-ever top-25 run at Worlds last year. I’m also the president & a co-founder of Timeless Talks at PVHS, VP of Asian Culture Club, and a board member for Mu Alpha Theta. I’ve also been a mentored researcher under a UT Austin PhD and a current University of Michigan upper-graduate researcher, where I’ve created machine learning models to help predict cancer drug viabilities for use on glioblastomas, with my other projects having competed in both PVPSEF and LACSEF. Outside of school, you may see me dicing my friends in pickleball. I look forward to meeting you guys!
Anabelle Viljoen, CEO
Hi! My name is Anabelle Viljoen and I’m a senior at Palos Verdes High School with a 5.0 GPA and 36 ACT. I’m an AP Scholar with Distinction and have earned 5s on all 11 AP exams I have taken, including Calculus BC, Spanish Literature, English Language, US History, Research, and Biology. I would love to tutor in any subject, particularly Spanish, history, and biology. At school, I am the President and founder of the Acres of Love Club, which supports vulnerable kids in South Africa. I am also the President of the Spanish National Honor Society, Novice Trainer for Model United Nations, and have published research with the Oxford Journal of Student Scholarship calculating the Social Return on Investment of Acres of Love. Outside of school, I play club soccer for FRAM most nights and am part of National Charity League, where I am Vice President and volunteer over 50 hours each year. In my free time, I love to read, go for runs, bake, and hang out with my friends and family!
Natalie Jorczak, CEO
Hi everyone! My name is Natalie Jorczak and I am a senior at Palos Verdes High School with a 4.82 GPA and a 35 ACT. I am an AP Scholar with Distinction and have gotten 5’s and 4’s on many AP exams including, World History, U.S. History, English Language, Psychology, Seminar, and PreCalculus. I love to tutor in all subjects, but English and history are my absolute favorites. In school, I am one of the Secretary Generals for Model United Nations and am the secretary for the Executive Board of Be The Change. I am also a captain of the PV Institute of Technology Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team, which programs autonomous drones to fly in mock search and supply drop missions. I’ve been on the PVHS girl’s golf team for 4 years and I love to get out on the course. I’m also President of Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society and I am the secretary for Wavetech Engineering. In my free time, I love to collect vinyls, try new matcha spots with my friends, and walk the trails of PV with my dog. I can’t wait to meet all of you!
Quentin Lanquetot
Hello! My name is Quentin Lanquetot, and I'm a Senior at PVHS. I have a 4.7 weighted GPA and a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I have scored 5's on the AP World, AP U.S History, AP Chem, AP Calc BC, and AP French exams. At school, I am a part of the UAV team and Science Research. I'm most excited to help students in Chemistry, French, and all levels of math. I've also had some experience tutoring before, teaching French individuals how to improve their English alongside our school's math tutoring program (Mathlab). I'm also the oldest sibling of four, as I have three younger sisters who definitely keep my life far from boring. Outside of academics, I make good use of Palos Verdes' outdoors to surf along the coastline and mountain bike on local trails. I am also part of my school's soccer program. I'm really looking forward to working with you and helping you all succeed!

Hello! My name is Amanda Lee, and I’m a current senior at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.0/4.8 GPA and a 35 ACT, with perfect math and english scores. I have taken a variety of AP and honors classes and I am an AP Scholar with Distinction having scored 5’s on 6 AP tests, including English Language, World and US History, Environmental Science, Psychology, and Pre-Calculus. I especially love Math and History, but I would love to tutor in any subject. Within school, I'm a part of CSF, NHS, NEHS, and Link Crew. I am also a tutor for our Math- Lab, Under Secretary of External Relations for MUN, and President of my club Teens for Business. Outside of school, I am a very active volunteer in the Las Ninas charity organization, I own my own small business, and I help run the social media for a variety of local South Bay businesses. In my free time I love to travel, do nails, go to the beach, and spend time with friends and family! Hi! My name is Suri Acharya, and I am a senior at PVHS with a 4.9/4.0 GPA. I am an AP Scholar with Distinction, as I have passed all six of my AP exams, earning 5s on AP U.S. History, AP Environmental Science, and AP English Language. I have also received the AP Capstone Diploma through AP Research and AP Seminar. I am happy to tutor in any subject, but my favorites are definitely English and science! In school, I am President of Science National Honor Society, President and Founder of my own environmental sustainability club, Sustainable Society, and Commissioner of Sea King Family Pride in ASB. Additionally, I serve on the Principal’s Advisory Committee, Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, and the PVPUSD District Educational Board as the PVHS student representative. Outside of school, you can find me leading tours as a Junior Docent at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, fundraising through my club to build a clean water well in South Africa, or spending time with friends going on sunset swims at the beach. Olivia Hirsch
Hi! I’m Olivia, a high school student at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.9 GPA, and am involved in ASB, NHS, SNHS, Principal’s Advisory Council, and Student Counseling Advisory. Throughout high school, I’ve gotten an A in and have passed the AP test for the following AP courses: AP Biology, AP European History, AP Seminar, AP Research, and AP Language. I’ve also taken college classes in business, law, statistics, and finance. I also have experience with Python, marketing and AI through summer research. I’m an older sister, so this has helped me be patient, responsible, and enjoy helping students understand things in a way that actually makes sense to them. In my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants in LA and going to the beach!
Nathan Dorfman
Hi! My name is Nathan Dorfman. I have a 3.95/4.75 GPA. I can tutor a wide range of subjects including English, Spanish, and math, where I have the most experience. I currently work at Mathnasium where I’ve tutored 60+ students k-12 in homework and tests as well as customizing 60+ diagnostic plans. I’ve also tutored SAT math through Collegeboard Schoolhouse raising student’s scores up to 100 points over 4 weeks, as well as STEM programs for Barton Hill Elementary and Park Western Elementary. I have a seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, having taken 5 years across middle and high school. As Chief Operating Officer of our school’s underwater remote-operated vehicle team I’ve helped our team win our first MATE World Competition win in school history as well as multiple regional competition wins. I play Varsity Soccer where as a starter, I helped lead our team to winning our league as well as achieving our first ever CIF-open division qualification. Outside of school, I am a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and helped create a player-led soccer team where I help organize games, practices and social media weekly.

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Chuang, and I’m a senior at Palos Verdes High School. I have taken a variety of AP and Honors courses, while maintaining a 4.7/4.0 GPA. My strongest subject is math, but I’m happy to tutor in any subject! In school, I currently serve as the captain of our Choreo team and a junior editor-in-chief of the Triton Yearbook. In addition, I am the president of Asian Culture Club and vice president of outreach for National Chinese Honor Society. I’m also a Link Crew Leader and am involved in CSF and NHS. Outside of school, I regularly volunteer with TMMC NOVAS, as well as Ready, Willing, and Able, where we assist those with special needs in weekly dance classes. Bryce Hsieh
Hey guys! My name is Bryce Hsieh, and I am a senior at Palos Verdes High School with a 4.6 weighted GPA. I have great experience working with younger students, as one of my main volunteer activities is mentoring elementary and middle school students through robotics. Math is one of my strongest subjects, and I especially enjoy breaking down difficult concepts and helping students understand them in a way that makes sense to them. My interest in math, engineering, and hands-on learning has also led me to two internships over the summer, where I’ve been able to gain valuable real-world experience. Outside of school, I enjoy playing golf , watching baseball, pickleball, and watching movies. I’m excited to meet and work with everyone and hopefully make learning a little easier and more enjoyable!

At PVHS, I am part of Link Crew, the California Scholarship Federation, Spanish National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Cyber Patriots, PVIT’s UAV team, and girl’s lacrosse. Outside of school, I coach youth lacrosse and I love spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, exploring LA, playing video games, and trying all kinds of delicious foods! Hello everyone! My name is Michael Masellis, and I am a senior at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.8 weighted GPA and a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I have earned the AP Scholar with Distinction award by scoring 4's and 5's on my AP exams, including Chemistry, World History, Spanish, Language and Composition, U.S. History, and Psychology. Previously, I have tutored younger students online through the organization Step Up Tutoring, as well as on campus through the Spanish Lab Tutoring program during lunch. Off campus, I founded a club in which my friends and I go to senior assisted living facilities to play chess and checkers with the residents. I am also active in my local church, having served as an usher for Mass and being a member of the Youth Parish Council. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and running with the cross-country team. I look forward to working with students this year!

This year I will be a part of SCA, CSF, Math Club, and Surf Team! Outside of school I volunteer through NCL, babysit, and work as a surf instructor at BeachSports. At school, I'm a Secretary General of the Model United Nations program and the Editor-in-Chief of Photography of the Triton Yearbook. Last year, I also tutored students in Spanish Lab during lunch. Outside of school, I've spent years working with younger students at the Sholem Community in Los Angeles where I supervise and teach about culture, history, and identity. Hi! I’m Ananya, a senior at PV High. As far as my academics go, my best subjects are AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC, Precalculus and all lower maths, English, AP World, and AP 3D Art portfolios. My favorite subjects are math, physics, and art, but I’d be happy to teach anything else you may need. I have experience tutoring friends and family, ensuring I adapt my teaching style to your preferred method of learning. I’m an AP Scholar with Distinction and just received the AP Capstone Diploma. My favorite subjects are social sciences and English, but I’m happy to tutor in a variety of subjects! In school, I’m involved in Model United Nations, Speech and Debate, and Link Crew, as well as the founder of the Giving Spirit club that focuses on Los Angeles’s unhoused population. Outside of school, I’ve interned with the City of Palos Verdes Estates and dedicate a lot of time to volunteering. Currently, I serve on the Giving Spirit Youth Council, a youth advisory board for the nonprofit The Giving Spirit, and as president of my class at NCL. Hey guys! My name is Avery, and I’m a senior at Pen High. Although I’m a super STEM-y person, I love tutoring in all fields of academia. Hi everyone! My name is Isaac Kim, and I am a junior at PVHS with a 4.0 unweighted and 4.8 weighted GPA. I have experience tutoring through PVHS’s Math Lab tutoring program and have earned a 5 on all of my AP exams, including AP World History, AP Psychology, and AP Chemistry. Hi everyone! My name is Thalia Lindahl, and I am a senior at Palos Verdes High School who will be attending Stanford University to play Division I beach volleyball. I can tutor in any subject, but I excel most in math, reading comprehension, and writing. Hi, I'm Arshawn Sahrai and I am a Senior at PVHS. On campus I am co-president of VEX Robotics, Middle Eastern Student Union (MESU), am a long time member of Model UN and the swim team. Outside of school I coach at Palos Verdes Aquatic Club and volunteer for Luna Peak Links and Cancer Support Community South Bay, where we help set up events to raise money or prepare gifts for cancer patients. My favorite subjects are Math, Chemistry, Spanish, and Computer Science. In my free time I enjoy going out with my friends, playing video games, and keeping up to date with the latest tech news. Hello everyone! My name is Irene Kim and I am a senior at Palos Verdes High School. I maintain a 3.93 unweighted and a 4.80 weighted GPA. I have earned AP Scholar with Distinction, by taking AP Physics C, AP Statistics, AP English Language, AP Physics 1, and AP Chemistry. While I enjoy tutoring all subjects, my favorite is math! I have been a part of the school’s award winning Triton Yearbook ever since sophomore year and now serve as an Editor in Chief. I am also part of the UAV hardware team and compete on TSA, where our team recently qualified for nationals! I am also involved in CSF, Link Crew, and SNHS. Outside of school, I enjoy making cards for hospitalized kids with my sister and watching movies- just as Nolan intended! At school, I am the Founder/President of Blue Tide, a marine science and conservation club, and participate in science research, PVIT ROV, NHS, SNHS, and various other programs and clubs. Outside of school, I volunteer with National Charity League and foster kittens through Pet Protectors League, where I also help with transportation, adoptions, and clinics. In my free time, I love photography, reading, being in the ocean, and hand-making just about anything! Hi everyone! My name is Gemma Finazzo, and I am a senior at PVHS. I have a 4.8 weighted GPA and a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I am happy to help in most subjects, but my favorites are math, science, and english! Last semester I also participated in the 1 in 7 kidney research internship partnered with USC Keck at my school. Hi! My name is Ariel, and I’m a senior at Palos Verdes High School with a 5.0/4.0 GPA and have earned 5’s on 8 APs (Calculus BC, Stats, Chemistry, Physics, Lang, European History, Seminar, and Music Theory) and 4’s on three others. Having scored 800 for SAT math, placed in chemistry for Science Olympiad, and tutored students from Asia, my favorite subjects are math, chemistry, and English. I’ve explored these subjects through college courses like organic chemistry, linear algebra, differential equations, and discrete math. In school, I’m involved in Mu Alpha Theta/math club as president, SNHS (previously served on board), science research, TSA where I’ve qualified for nationals, Superintendent Advisory Council, girls tennis, and more. Hello! My name is Malia Tamilin and I am a senior at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.0/4.8 GPA, a 35 ACT score, and have scored 4’s and 5’s on all of my AP tests. At PVHS, I love being involved on campus. I am currently the President of Be the Change, founder of a sports equipment collection club and a math lab tutor. Additionally, I am a member of the Varsity soccer team, and recently joined the Surf Team! My favorite thing to do is meet new people, which is why I have been a Link Crew leader and a volunteer at Community Helpline. I love to work with kids, spending my summers working at Discovery Camp, a local art and tennis camp. Outside of school, you can find me trying new food spots in the South Bay (especially hot dogs), spending time with my loved ones, or watching Marvel movies. I am comfortable tutoring in any subject and look forward to working with you.
Eva Douglas
Hi! My name is Eva and I’m a senior at PV High. I have a 4.7/4.0 GPA, 35 ACT, and am an AP Scholar with distinction, earning mostly 5s on AP US and World History, Psychology, English Language, and Biology. I have tutored in math, social studies, Spanish, and English in the past, but am open to almost any subject. In school, I’m very involved in the drama department, where I hold the position of Vice President, and in Model UN, where I am the Upper Secretary of Internal Relations. I am a member of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and International Thespian Honor Society. Outside of school, I love my job as a hostess and to sing for retirees at the Clearwater at South Bay Retirement Home. You may find me crafting, reading, or eating exorbitant amounts of In-N-Out with my friends. I can’t wait to meet you!
Arya Abbasian Kashi
Hey everyone! My name is Arya and I’m a senior at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.7 weighted GPA and a 3.9 unweighted GPA. I’m glad to help with any subject, but I especially enjoy Business, English, and Spanish, having received a 5 on both AP Lang and AP Spanish Lang. At school, I’m a varsity swimmer and I serve as President of the Middle Eastern Student Union and the CSC YLC Club, where I help organize volunteer events and youth outreach for cancer awareness. Outside of school, I work at a restaurant and intern in real estate development, where I’ve gained experience with financial analysis and construction. I also serve as Vice President for Luna Peak Links, where I help at different events dedicated to fundraising money for cancer research. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, playing piano, spending time with friends and family, and learning more about business and real estate. I look forward to working with all of you!
Nikolai Quintile
Hi everyone! My name is Nikolai Quintile, and I’m a senior at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.74 weighted GPA and have taken and am currently taking a wide range of challenging honors and AP courses. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and science. Outside of academics, I have been a member of my school’s Jazz Band all four years of high school. I am also involved in water polo, where I have played for almost three years, and I volunteer with the Assistance League of San Pedro-South Bay. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, which I have been doing for almost 10 years, and anything related to cars. I am also interested in aerospace engineering and aviation and have gained hands-on experience through my school’s Institute of Technology and its Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) team. I look forward to working with students, helping them overcome challenges in their classes, and making difficult subjects feel more manageable and approachable!

Hi everyone! My name is Madeleine Ngo, and I’m a senior at PV High with a 3.9/4.9 GPA. I am an AP Scholar with Honor and have scored high on seven AP tests, including Chemistry, Calculus BC, Psychology, and English Language and Composition. I am comfortable tutoring any subject, but math and science are my favorites. At school, I am president and co-founder of TMMC Connections Club and Chinese Culture Club. I am also an active member in the Science, Chinese, and National Honor Societies, as well as CSF. Outside of school, I am a dedicated volunteer at senior homes, Novas at TMMC, and the PV Assembly. In my free time, I enjoy playing piano and guitar, going to the beach, and hanging out with my dog. I look forward to meeting you all!
Charlie Handjian
Hello! My name is Charlie Handjian, and I am a junior at Palos Verdes High School. Currently, I maintain a rigorous academic schedule, which includes 4 AP courses, and has included a wealth of other honors and AP courses previously, as well as science research. My favorite subjects are math and science. Currently, I maintain an unweighted GPA of 4.0, and a weighted GPA of 4.733. At PVHS, I am a commissioner in Be The Change, Co-Secretary of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and section leader of woodwinds in Jazz Band, where I play both clarinet and saxophone. I am also a member of our school’s golf team. Off campus, I am a Sunday school teacher at my synagogue, where I teach Hebrew reading, Jewish history, and religion, as well as Vice-President of my Lion’s Heart service group. I cannot wait to work with you all!
Alyssa Niu
Hey everyone! My name is Alyssa Niu, I am a Junior at Palos Verdes High School with a 4.9 weighted GPA. I am an AP Scholar with honor and I have gotten 4/5s on AP classes including AP Chinese, AP Chemistry, and AP World History. I am a part of Science National Honor Society, English National Honor Society, Chinese National Honor Society, and CSF. My favorite subjects are Math, Chemistry, and Chinese however I am willing to tutor any subject. I am currently assistant captain on the PVHS Choreo team and was social media manager the previous year. This school year I am also mentoring middle school students for science research. Outside of school I volunteer at Ready Willing and Able to teach and mentor people with disabilities. I volunteer with a community helpline to talk to people who are in need. I've played piano for 11 years, trained in taekwondo for 8 years, and danced since I was 5. I look forward to working with you!
Lamya Saifee
Hi everyone! My name is Lamya Saifee, and I am a junior at Palos Verdes High School with a 5.0/4.0 GPA. I have taken a variety of AP and Honors classes and am an AP Scholar, having scored 4s and 5s on the AP World History, Psychology, and Spanish Language and Culture exams. Some of my favorite subjects are math and Spanish; however, I am comfortable tutoring in any class! At school, I tutor students through PVHS’s Math and Spanish Lab programs during lunch. I am also a member of the PVIT VEX Robotics team, a Student Counseling Ambassador, and a vice president of Spanish Honor Society. Additionally, I am involved in Science and English National Honor Society, Science Research, and CSF. Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering at local land conservancies and food banks. I am also a nationally ranked Division 1 fencer and have competed at national and international tournaments representing Team USA. In my free time, I love baking, crafting, and spending time outdoors. I am excited to be a part of PV Tutors and look forward to meeting and working with you all!
Sophia Otera
Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Otera, and I am a junior at Palos Verdes High School. I have a 4.87 weighted GPA and will be taking all AP courses this year. My favorite subjects are English, math, and history, but I am happy to tutor for any subject. On campus, I am the Commissioner of Special Projects in Be the Change, a Student Counselor Ambassador, and a part of various clubs. I am also a member of NEHS, SNHS, and CSF, as well as a player on the high school varsity softball team. Outside of school, I play on a competitive travel softball team and give pitching lessons to the younger athletes in our community; this spring I will also be an assistant softball coach at the local rec league. In my free time, I love hanging out with friends, going to the beach, baking, and spending time with my dog. I look forward to working with you!
Luca Spinosa
Hi, my name is Luca Spinosa, and I’m a junior at PV High. Beginning from my freshman year, I have taken many AP and Honors classes, including AP Euro and AP World (5’s on both), and am continuing to challenge myself with advanced coursework this year (AP Calculus BC, AP Bio, APUSH, AP Lang). Although I am happy to help with any subject, my specialties are math (algebra based) and English. Inside of school, I am involved in a variety of clubs, like Korean Culture Club and Toys for Hope, and am also apart of Yearbook. I was a Link Crew Leader this year, and have been a CSF member since freshman year. I am also a part of PV’s volleyball team, both indoor and outdoor! Outside of school, I enjoy creative writing and volunteering. During the winter I also love to go skiing! I’m excited to meet and work with you all!
Jacob Chen
Hi everyone! My name is Jacob Chen and I am currently a junior at Palos Verdes High School, with a 3.85/4.65 GPA. I am happy to tutor any subject, but I am best at teaching Math, and Chemistry. So far I have taken 2 AP classes (soon to be 6 after this year), of which I have passed all of them. Aside from AP classes, I am actively involved in many extracurriculars. For example, I serve as the Vice President of Science Olympiad, build leader and driver for the upperclass team in VEX robotics, and Secretary of National Chinese Honor Society. I am also involved in a variety of clubs and play on the School Junior Varsity tennis team. Outside of school, I like to fly planes, build remote-controlled aircraft, travel, and play tennis. Hi! I’m Allison Lee and I’m a junior at PV high with a 4.0/4.95 GPA. I got 4’s and 5’s on AP Bio, Calculus BC, European History, and World History and I’m currently enrolled in 5 more. I’m happy to tutor in any subject but my strongest is English and math. I am a ranked competitive Lincoln Douglas debater for 5+ years and I’ve been coaching a middle school debate team for the past 2 years. I’ve won national level awards with fiction and screenplay writing and I would love to help you with essays! I’m the co-founder of Her Steps Forward, a 501c3 nonprofit organization aimed to support young women around the world through health education and abuse prevention. In school, I'm an active member of MUN, lacrosse, literary publication, and multiple honor societies. In my free time, I love watching movies, shopping, and going to the beach!
